Mimoriadne \u00faspe\u0161n\u00ed v tejto s\u00fa\u0165a\u017ei boli pasa\u017eieri \u0161tudenti Technickej Univerzity z Mn\u00edchova, ke\u010f\u017ee sa im podarilo vyhra\u0165 ju u\u017e tret\u00edkr\u00e1t, a to dosiahnut\u00edm r\u00fdchlosti kapsuly 466 km\/h, \u010d\u00edm prekonali svoj rekord z minuloro\u010dnej s\u00fa\u0165a\u017ee v auguste, kedy dosiahli r\u00fdchlos\u0165 \u201elen \u201e 322km\/h. 466 km\/h je fantastick\u00fd v\u00fdsledok a pokrok oproti tomu z janu\u00e1ra 2017, ke\u010f sa im podarilo vyvin\u00fa\u0165 r\u00fdchlos\u0165 kapsuly len 93km\/h. Druh\u00fdmi finalistami boli holandsk\u00ed \u0161tudenti z Delft University s dosiahnutou r\u00fdchlos\u0165ou 141km\/h a za nimi \u0161vaj\u010diarsky t\u00edm EPFLoop s 85km\/h. Tieto t\u00edmy si vybojovali postup spomedzi 20-tich dru\u017estiev zo 40-tich kraj\u00edn sveta. V tomto roku mali trocha n\u00e1ro\u010dnej\u0161ie podmienky, preto\u017ee u\u017e nemohli svoje prototypy zr\u00fdchli\u0165 pohonom od SpaceX, ale museli sa spo\u013eahn\u00fa\u0165 len na vlastn\u00fd pohon. Druhou \u010das\u0165ou s\u00fa\u0165a\u017ee bola schopnos\u0165 udr\u017ea\u0165 kapsulu vo vzduchu ur\u010dit\u00fd \u010das \u201elevitova\u0165\u201c.
